Featheredge Fencing 

One of the most popular types of fence panels our close-boarded or featheredge fence panels are made in our own workshops using high-quality pressure-treated timber. Select from low level for front gardens or a higher level for privacy and also protection from wind. These fence panels are designed to work either with concrete H posts or our wooden posts. These panels can be matched to our range of featheredge garden gates. A double-sided version of our Chart featheredge fence panel, these panels are two-sided and look the same on both sides. The fence panels are made from pressure-treated timber. Constructed in our own workshop, the panels include twice-weathered capping.The Chart panel can be either slid into wooden or concrete H style fence posts or attached directly to a flat fence post. These panels are imperially sized and are a great replacement where older posts are already in situ.

The morticed version of our popular 100mm square pressure treated fence or gate post is available in 6 lengths to match your specific requirements. The posts are morticed three times (can be twice) and are made to order which means you can leave a note in the checkout to confirm how you want the morticing to be done and our Workshop can prepare this for you. Installation is recommended with postcrete (sold separately). This fencing kit provides all you need to construct a featheredge close boarded fence up to 12 meters long. One of the main benefits of featheredge fencing is the fence can effectively be made to measure with no need to cut down panels. It may also need to run over uneven ground or vary direction slightly. Pressure treated featheredge or close boarded fence pales can be used for either the creation of a new fence or repairs to an existing fence. The main support behind featheredge fencing, the arris rail is chamfered and scarfed slotting into our morticed posts. Depending on the height of your fencing you will require either 2 or 3 arris rails between posts. The all important break between the bottom of your fence and the ground. Capping rails sit on top of fence panels to protect and deflect the weather from the end grain of the wood. They also aesthetically 'finish off' the top of the panel. All our Chart capping rails are double weathered which means they slant to either side of the fence panel (which helps water run off) and are made from pressure treated timber for longevity of use. 46mm x18mm is best used with kit form fencing and in places where wider cover is needed.Available in two sizes: 44mm (width) x 16mm (depth) x 1.828m (length) and 68mm (width) x 38mm (depth) x 3.0m (length)Made from pressure treated timberDouble weathered

The neat way to finish off close boarded or featheredge fencing, a counter rail runs along the rear top side of the fence with a capping rail placed on top of the counter rail and fencing.
